3d animations are formed frame by frame, so they are naturally progressive.

So Tom, with the XH-A1 and others it can shoot in 24 & 30f. What do you think of that versus 60i?

Thanks for the replies, everybody. Here is my latest conundrum. At least it was. I had some 1080i footage I shot specifically to composite into a computer-generated shot. Because everybody told me I should leave footage in its native format, I rendered one version of the animation with interlaced fields, so it would match the camera footage. I then rendered the entire composition in 1080i. That's one clip done. Then I went back, deinterlaced the camera footage and re-timed it to 24p. Then I re-rendered the animation at 24p, did a second composition and rendered a second finished clip. The comp elements were: 2 pieces of HD video, 2 photographs and 2 from-scratch CG elements. Check out the finished results. I welcome any tips or critiques...
