FTP uploads restarting after file uploaded

Is there some kink in the ftp system that causes largish files (+550MB) to restart uploading after the upload was completed?

I uploaded a batch yesterday and found any file larger than a specific size, I suspect, does not get a "file complete" message back from the server, and promptly starts to re-upload. Smaller files went without a hitch.
Filezilla, Mac High Sierra.

It's a FileZilla problem.
For me mostly when files are more than 750mb and especially at SS.
