3D - What's coming up?

Does anybody know what's coming up for us with 3D technology?
In between Panasonic offers a 3D camcorder and in short time JVC will also offer one.
As i read at Panasonics website the 3D feature isn't working in QuickTime / or not possible to convert in .mov which we need here at P5.
I think there(here should be any plannings for this for the next future.

Do you mean stereoscopic 3D? Since mid 19th century there were a lot of 3D waves. Waves come in, waves go out. Just an ephemeral trend.

If we keep watching stereoscopic 3D for a longer time we get accustomed to it and after a period of time we will no longer notice the difference.

The new camera from Panasonic is nothing more than a consumer toy.

I am looking forward to getting into 3D, I have the same questions as you though. Not sure what cameras are coming out for 3d.

The next interesting camcorder will be from JVC and is pronounced for March 2011. This one shall be better than the existing one from Panasonic, because it shall be possible to zoom while recording in 3D mode.
Unfortunately there's no extended technical info on JVCs site about this camcorder, but i think all other manufacturers will jump on the train and publish 3D camcorders this year. It's the future.
Of course by this reason it can't least long time till we're asked to deliver 3D content. A 50" 3D TV is in between cheaper available than a 105cm TV 10 years before.
I remember unlikely the start of HD video. I had hours of VGA Underwater clips and suddenly couldn't sell it any longer because only HD videos were asked., but my underwater housing was build especially for the VGA camcorder :((

So it's only logic if to invest in further equipment, to invest in 3DS technology and to be one of the first!
But here are now the belonging questions of this thread.

Over 52,000 footage clips that use the keyword "3D" that are not 3D at all or even have anything to do with 3D. Spam in gross proportions and numbers still thrives here. There needs to be a way to differentiate true 3D footage from 2D want--be footage.

those keywords prob indicate that it is 3D animation (i.e. 3DSMAX, Maya etc) as opposed to 2D animation... So its not really spam, the difference is in 3D Stereoscopic which is entirely different from something created in a "3D" Animation software

As it seems most of you have a lot of time for talking here *sorry*, but nobody can give a clear and / or competent answer to my question ;)

The question is still "What are the plannings here at P5 for the next future?",
or with other still more simple words:
"If i buy a 3D Camcorder in the next time, can i upload here my 3D records which are not in .mov or .mts, because as i read and understand till now this 3D records have an own type of file.

@ AllFractUp:

Yes, of course i'll wait till there's any standart, but i don't think they'll offer me the possibility to export in a format of my choice. Maybe there will come up 2 or 3 different usuable codecs.
I read that in between it's possible to upload 3D clips at Facebook or/and YouTube. Because here in Germany still only 1 3D camcorder is available (Panasonic) which hasn't the best comments, i'll see what happens when the 3D camcorders from JVC and Sony are available here.
I think with the Sony release the things will begin to roll. Hope to get some info soon what the P5 crew is planning for the future.

So far it looks like side-by-side format is the only way to upload here at P5.The lack of a standard in the industry is like the Beta versus VHS still.
