Question to XH A1 users

I am processing a few tapes for a friend from Xh A1. I received interlaced MPEG2 files at 1440x1080. I cut the files into small MPEG2 clips which I converted to AVI and then to MOV using MPEG_streamclip. I use the same image size (1440x1080) and frame rate as the original file. This is the result:
I am getting these black margins at the top and at the bottom of the picture. What am I doing wrong?

Are you seeing this right from the camera? Or is it at some point during the conversion for AVI or final rendering of MOV?
It looks like maybe one of those conversions is making the video anamorphic.
Or did he shoot this in SD format and you're converting to a stretched HD?

OK, I see, the strips appear the first time in the AVI files. Hmmm.

What is the jog at the first second or two of the video? I would edit that out or fix it if you can.

This is another bug from the program that converted to AVI. I am deleting all the files and re-processing. Thanks, Jake.
