Hello everyone,
I am really confused about setting price of my exclusive footage. When I was not exclusive then I was putting a competitive price but after I’m exclusive here I don’t know which price range is ok. I know it depends on many factors including port size but I want a general idea.
I have a tinny portfolio and will try to keep building gradually .Yet I don’t want to sell my footage for cheap but there are amazing footage in other stock sites or even in pond5 available for very less cost.. even 4K .
Anyone exclusive here would share his experience then I would really be thankful... I don’t know if buyers here prefer to pay a premium price for exclusive footage... has anyone here sold his exclusive footage for 3 digit price or more (In recent days say in 2020) ? I know conditions were different before but in today’s pandemic time and when every stock site is eager to sell for pennies I wonder how much should set a price for exclusive footage in p5...
Thanking you ...

buyers prefer to buy what they need regardless the price...of course if they can find the same footage for less they will go for it but unless you sell a blue sky or a duck in the pond every footage is different so what matters is content not price especially during this pandemic where it's hard to send a crew out for filming...

@sebolla74 thank you for your input. yes thats true.. but how do you assume if any of your footage is different and should be priced higher or lower.. I know being the producer of the contents they are always valuable to ourselves .. but what i do is search for the main keyword/title what i want my content to be found for and if that doesnt show many of images then i prefer to price it higher... even search other stock sites and compare... is it correct way to do a research before setting a price? or is there something else creators prefer before deciding the price...
ps- I also authorized pond5 team to set price for some of my contents, emailed them too to know the behavior and trend of buyers and market but i just got a generalized preformed answer...

after almost 10 years in this industry i can tell you to don"t waste time on searching how to price your content but invest this time in shooting new content, that's the most a profitable way to make money...don't bother too much about pricing, content matters not price,we are not selling white towels,we are creators and every content is different and you will sell it only if it fits buyers need not just because is cheaper...plus,don't let other set your price,if you sell the same clips on other site like as or ss keep those price...
