I just saw I have sold at POND 5, but can you explain how an item priced at $30 can be sold for $3?

When you joined Pond5 you were automatically entered into three programs which are GPP, LLP, and OMP. You'll find those programs in your account preferences with many other options. https://www.pond5.com/my-preferences also read you sections 2 & 6 of contributors agreement. https://www.pond5.com/legal/contributor

I thought if I uncheck "Give my stuff for free" it wouldn't happen. Just unchecked the other "programs".

"uncheck "give my stuff for free"
I laughed way too much at that one.
As Jason mentioned you have the GPP and LLP which when one of those sales come in you get less money but those are marked as such.
The way sales are going has a pro and con.
The Cons:
They have the incredible amount of discounted sales, lately about 95% of my sales are discounted.
Then there are the sales that are marked as a regular sale (not GPP or LLP) but they have repriced my asking price from $79 to $62 and sell it at that amount.
Then there are the sales that are repriced as above but also a discount is given on top of that lower amount which yields me an even lower amount.
The Pros:
occasionally you'll have a sale at your asking price. ( I know that sounds harsh but the proof is in the percentage of sales at the asking amount from the discounted ones)
You'll also have something that is sold at a different license where you actually get more than your asking price.
Those are nice to get.
The bottom line: it is what it is.
It's up to you to pick your battles. At this point all of the stock sites have their bottom line to meet and will do whatever it takes to get a sale.
That's by drastically reducing your price or put it in some bulk deal where you get even less.
I personally don't hire actors anymore because the ROI isn't there anymore.
Good luck in your future sales,
Jake

By the way, I absolutely love your UFO videos.
Very well done. I'm sure I'll see those on Ancient Aliens or some other sci-fi show.
