Editing online images no recommended

WinterQuartersProductions 5 Jan 2022 18:33
I sometimes go in to my online images and re-edit, particularly if I find I have poor or incorrect keywords or want to alter the pricing. However, today I got a message from the curator saying:
"When you make changes to descriptions, key words, and prices your clip fall to the lowest ranking so it's not a good idea to do so."
So, I guess they are watching and I will have to do less re-editing.
Thoughts?

Hey Richard,

This is not true. We do not lower ranking if metadata is changed after approval. In fact, the opposite is true, as complete and accurate titling and metadata is the single most important factor you control (after shooting) to improve your search rankings and we are constantly monitoring for changes that improve customer search relevance.

Please be aware that the message you received was not from one of our curators, but from another artist, who in this case is mistaken.

Please always reach out to us at support@pond5.com if you have any questions, and we'll be happy to help you further.

Cheers,

Aha! Thanks so much for the response Ryan. Somehow I thought it was from a curator. I like to refine keywords and even descriptions to make them more relevant, such as adding tags for the pandemic or changes to reflect global warming. Good to know!
