MAVIC 3 video stutters Premiere Pro CC

RekindlePhoto 19 Jan 2022 23:04
With the new DJI Mavic 3 the video will not run smooth in Premiere Pro CC. Shoots in h.265 which my desktop does not like. My desktop has no problem with ProRes or h.264 and Canon R5 video.

Looks like I need to convert it to h.264 or something else lossless to be able to process on my "older" system.

What are ya'll using? Free software conversion or paid. Want something fast but lossless.

Thanks.

I usually transcode h.264 video to prores then edit that.
I have a pretty fast system but it still chokes on 264

h.264 isn't bad but the Mavic 3 h.265 is chocking me bad. My little laptop which is newer handles it fine. Just my Desktop won't handle it. What are you using to transcode?

An yes we are back from our thirteen months in Ghana Africa and great to be home again.

Here are some tips you can try, extend the timeline, stretch it out, a LOT. Set your playback Rez to 1/8 if 4k, 1/4 if HD, rendering in chunks also helps, select an in and out point I/O and render. After doing all of that and it is still choppy, close every application you have open, reboot and start fresh. Believe it or not every one of those tips work for me.
Hope that helps

If all of that knowledge is within your tater already then sorry :) You can also check some videos out about using Proxies. But that is not why I dropped back in, thank you for being the inspiration for the video tutorial on the subject I am making. After years of doing this it is those little things we tend to just do and never think about, or people with big time computational devices to edit butter all day and never worry about, but for me I use what I have and I learned ways of doing it the same as the big boys :) *true struggling artist story :)

Oh, I thought you said it was 264 you're having problems with.
Any rate, anytime I have stuttering issues, I transcode to prores using media encoder.
