Another Forum usabilty suggestion

Just a tiny little suggestion:
When a page loads, the search field gets the focus. I.e. the cursor blinks there and when you type, you type directly in the search field. That's great.
Except in the forums. Maybe I'm the only one, but I tend to navigate in long threads using the cursor keys, including page up/down, home and end. However, those do not work as expected when the focus is on a text field. :(
Now, would it be possible to not set the focus on the search field while browsing the forums?
(Was that understandable...?)
