could you just get our percentage back to 50% and boost some motivation?

pond5, i find it affects my motivation to work and upload new stuff, since you keep keeping our percentage at 35% (at least on audio).
at 50%, when it was like that, it was more fair. frankly it was still not good, as contributors i feel should not get less than at least 70%. but evenso, the motivation was bigger.
you changed it to 35% in 2019 (?), just pull it back at 50%, as its discouraging. 35? its ridiculous. consider taxes to the state are a thing, too.
so can you actually say that you really find it fair that i get just 35 and you 65?

I completely agree, but I doubt it will make much difference now subscriptions are offered.

Wholeheartedly agree that 35% is BS. Especially since my few paltry sales of audio completely ceased in 2019 at the same time the commission was lowered to 35% from 50%, and replaced with some supposed "service".
I never did understand the logic of the downgrade in commission, and felt it to be completely disheartening and insulting and downright mean.

I have to agree with livingroomclassics. 35% is not sustainable.

Same here didn't upload anything since commission was lowered to 35%. Makes no sense for me because we have to do most of the work > script, shoot, edit, grade, keyword and upload. And they just give us the server space so WTF? It should be something like 80% for us and 20% for them from the beginning. Same happened to istock years ago when they begun to pay only 15% then I showed them the middle finger.

Whatever media you create, you should be earning more than the agency. 60% minimum. These companies have no understanding of just how damaging it is when they lower commission, as the demotivation contributors feel is considerable. It's happened elsewhere where I license images, where they dropped contributor's commission from 60% to 50% and now to 40%. They even admitted it would make no real difference to them - Yet they did it anyway? The demotivation is awful and I know many, myself included, who have concentrated submitting media elsewhere now. Unfortunately, these agencies are so large now and often owned by even bigger companies (just look at all the takeovers in recent years, including at Pond5) that if a few thousand disgruntled contributors feel demotivated and stop uploading completely, they won't even notice. Gone are the days when they actually cared about contributors in the stock industry. I don't aim that at Pond5 as I'm relatively new here, but I do see this attitude from most agencies providing stock media.

When any company has reduced the commission for its authors in the past, it has ultimately led to a steady decline in quality and sales. Why would any true artist invest time and resources to creating anything of quality only to see a measly few cents and dollars per sale. I only submit the dregs of my work to pond5 and keep the final edits and mastered tracks for a Chinese site who actually pay a fair rate.
