Am I too late? Worth my efforts?

I recently joined the site and I'm new to the stock music business. Out of curiosity I whipped together a few quick and kinda sloppy tracks to see if they would be approved or not. They were approved but I'm not sure if they've gone live yet or not. After taking that first step I did a little digging online about the industry and it seems as though the overall opinion is that it's a saturated market and not worth the effort. Is this true? I didn't really expect to make a living here but even a small reward for the effort would be nice. And the fantasy of making a living making music is a nice daydream anyway. Should I ignore the pessimistic voices and continue on, or should I look for some other way to occupy my time? Oh, and I set the price for my tracks really cheap and will be adjusting accordingly based on the effort I put in and the amount of attention they receive. Not trying to undercut anyone.

I like your Dark Ambient Piano track kind gives me a Pink Floydian vibe. I record and design SFX so I cant comment much on the Music sales side but from what I see with my sales and the new pricing, I sell less, but I do make sales here an there so I keep at it more because I like to do it, I know I cant make a living at it here, but like you mention small rewards ... key word small LOL, ya I would try it because it can be cool to see some sales.

The only thing that I must warn you about is that if you get hit with a discount code you will get far less then you expect P5 shares this with you they do not eat the discount like Ebay that part I really do not feel is fair at all because I did not want my SFX discounted, and as it is SFX only get 35% of the sale. Example I sold a sound and it was like $12 but because the buyer used a crazy discount code I got just a few dollars. So going forward don't be shocked if you get far less then expected on some tracks as this can and will happen.

Maybe we can all change this somehow if enough write in but as it is now that's the way iit works. Originally when I started here I got 50% now its just 35% so I say try it if its what you love to do and will do this as a small side line. I always love to see that even though I am in with a zillion SFX that some how someone or some company found my SFX and chose mine to buy over all others so that's always a good feeling. Note: usually you will need a lot more then 3 tracks to get any sales. I hope you make some sales, good luck!

Short answer Josh = yes.
Longer answer. Don't give up your day job and if you're making music for fun and get enough to buy a coffee occasionally - why not add the odd track here and there?
I don't have a tonne of music compared to some of the publishing companies etc on here. I have 67 tracks and can't be bothered really adding many more as the rate has dropped from a 50% share when I originally signed up in 2014 plus music isn't turning over anywhere near as much. I used to average US$50/month now I am lucky to make that a year. Other music sales sites have gone broke since then in part due to the saturated market.
