An omen, folklore or coincidence ...

Last night just after sunset but light enough to see I walked out into our front yard. I looking up at some power lines and there was a very large Great Horned Owl sitting on the wires. I went back in the house to get Pam. We were able to get about 30 feet away from it before it flew. When it flew away it flew beautifully north towards our nearest neighbors house a couple hundred yards away. We have never seen an owl around here before. In Native American Folklore, the owl is a bird that gives message of impending death to someone.

This morning our neighbor where the owl flew towards died unexpectedly in her home. WOW, this is incredible.

Wow that is incredible.
I think more than coincidence.

I read between the lines: "our nearest neighbors house a couple hundred yards away. " That's a long distance between houses.

Anyway, is it possible that the owl has identified an ambulance or MD car the day before the death?

Yes our nearest neighbor does live about 200 yards away across a farm field. In the evening when we saw the owl everyone was healthy and fine. The death was early in the morning so no ambulance, police cars or family was anywhere near their home for many hours later, she died after the sun came up. Kinda spooky. I know it sounds hard to believe ... some things are coincidence and others hard to explain. I haven't seen an owl around here since I was a very young boy many decades ago.

Umm..why isn't there a clip of that owl young man? You were supposed to grab your camera. :) Do you remember the song Wildfire by Michael Martin Murphey? He eludes to the hoot owl outside his window symbolizing death coming for him.

I am sorry about your neighbor. How tragic for that family my heart goes out to them.

I see owls occasionally and I am still here :) but I work in healthcare and death is a part of it. You never know, the Lord works in mysterious ways. Maybe the owl was telling you something. The owls are beautiful, mysterious creatures.

Don, my concern is that someone has sent YOU a message and changed his mind in the last moment. Watch your step.
dapoopta 3 Aug 2013 15:13
or telling Don to enjoy life, then he took the neighbor as a warning

Could you send me a whole crate of those owls? I have a ton of neighbors I can't stand.
