Philip Bloom uses this TV as a 4K monitor http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DOPGO2G?tag=philipblcouk-20&camp=213381&creative=390973&linkCode=as4&creativeASIN=B00DOPGO2G&adid=1140KXAJN89VGRTB2CX2&&ref-refURL=http%3A%2F%2Fphilipbloom.net%2F2014%2F01%2F08%2F4kces%2F

I found the KMPlayer version 3.6 to be the best 4K player on my notebook. You can zoom and play in the player itself too.
DO NOT DOWNLOAD 3.7

My computer stutters a lot if I try to play 4k pjpeg, but it does ok if a compressed version. Does anyone know if that 4k Dell monitor is out or a release date?

I installed an SSD and the players work a lot better. Has anyone found a codec pack or anything that allows you to view the 4k thumbnails on Windows? It just shows a file symbol on all my 4k videos, which is kind of a pain.

I suggest that everyone posting about 4K player could say what monitor (4K or not) and what graphic card they use.

I don't plan on a 4k monitor, tv or anything for quite a while. Just too much undecided stuff regarding the standard. Here is yet another interesting article where they mention anything below a 50+ inch is not going to show much benefit. Unfortunately my desk, nor my wall has space for such a beast. Then on top of that, one needs to sit fairly close to reap the visual benefift. http://www.yahoo.com/tech/all-these-things-muddy-the-picture-for-uhd-73232015819.html

Well as far as the content part goes, the 4k sets I viewed at best buy do a really good job at up scaling HD. I mean it looked beautiful, and they said what I was seeing was up scaled HD. Also, when he says that they are 'just beginning to develop' a disk delivery system, my bet is it won't be a full year. If they are putting the money into the TV sets, they are definitely pushing heavy on the research and development stuff.

YouTube is streaming compressed 4k, but I have no idea what it would looks like at resolution. I know for a start, I would like to view the rich detail of the stuff I create, and the lack of content could be a huge opportunity for content creators like us.

For me, seeing is believing, and those sets looked beautiful. As long as they really upscale well, I don't think people will be all that hesitant to buy and wait for delivery of 4k content by disk and cable. Besides, here in the U.S., TV bragging rights go a long way. The 4k man cave tv will thrive.
