AE plug-in WMImport.AEX error

Hi, everyone!

I'm getting the following error when starting Adobe AfterEffects CS3 (Windows XP Pro, Intel Core Quad CPU Q6700, 4GB RAM, 2TB internal drives):

After Effects error: plug-in "...\Support Files\Plug-ins\Format\WMImport.AEX" could not be loaded (126). (48 :: 46)

AE, scratch and source files are on different physical drives.

Thanks,

Zygis

Maybe you find a fix here...

Hi, Rudi!

Thank you very much, indeed! This link is very informative and I'll try to find solution. This error so far caused no problems, it appears only when starting AE but it is annoying to have it every time you start AE. To test, I installed AE on other partition of the same PC and there is no such error.

Probably the plugin file is somehow corrupted (or something the pluging loads). Can you do a reinstall straight over the old install - that might take care of it.

Hi!

I uninstalled and then reinstalled AE without luck (: But then I found a solution which worked OK:

It seems that this plug-in is for Windows media import and searches for some external file. I Renamed the WMImport.AEX plugin to '~WMImport.AEX' which made it invisible to AfterEffects - we'll see about what AE will start complaining later.

BTW: the same error appeared with CS3 and CS4.

Don't feel bad... I have been working with Adobe for the last two weeks on upgrade issues, install issues etc all related to CS4 Production Suite on a 64 bit machine..... we are now attempting the 4th full re-install using the 4th method and it ain't pretty.

Thanks vadervideo, I feel a lot better now :)
