As I am going to be new to video after sitting on the fence for too long, i was wondering what the best option to shoot is. 24 or 60 fps. These are the two options for my camera. I would like the option to post edit for slow motion and timelapse so would like to know the best mode to shoot.
Thanks.
Thanks.

For slow motion, shoot 60 and put into a 24 or 30fps timeline for half-speed playback.
For normal speed shots, it's your call: 24 or 30fps.

Ok thanks. Just wondering if I shoot all the time at 60 fps so I always have the option.

A lot of cameras shoot specially for the region it is sold in, so if you are in Europe it will be PAL and 25fps and 50fps with the cinema rate of 24fps in North America NTSC and 30, 60fps. One theory is to keep to your regions frame rate and submit that at 25fps for PAL or 30fps NTSC. The other theory is the two sites that produce the most sales are based in the U.S. So submit 30fps as the U.S. Is the largest single customer for footage. The new GH4 is sold as a world camera and has all the frame rates.
When I refer to 25, 30, 50 and 60fps I am using a shorthand and do mean 29.97fps etc, just rounding up.
