Here I show how the 5D built-in Mic picks up noise from lens. The first set is of the lens IS. The next is of the Live Focus. The last is manual Zoom.
In each test I provide both the built-in Mic and the Rode Video Mic. Keep in mind that there is no background noise so the AGC in the camera is at its max. Under most normal conditions the AGC wont be this high.
