Color Temp Of Studio Lights

If you were going to invest in cold fluorescent light banks for studio work, would you get 3200k or daylight 5200k tubes?
I'm thinking 3200k would allow the use of redheads etc for background texture etc, yet the 5200k would allow them to be taken outside as well.

The flourescent set I bought has the 5200k bulbs. I kind of like it better since I can shoot next to a window or have some sunlight come in the scene without having any color issues.
But, I do have some older halogen fresnel movie lights I like to use or if I want to use a practical lamp in the scene. Then I can't use my fluoresents. So, at some point I may get a set of 3200k bulbs so I can have both color temps.

I guess that's the solution to have both lamps available

Hey Norman,
Don't know if you saw this.
http://www.fjwestcott.com/details.cfm?id=1&tbl=td5
900 equivalent watts from a 50 watt flourescent
I have a large 5 foot diamater softbox that I don't use because it has a 1000 watt halogon bulb in it. It's hot as hell. I'm getting one of these flourescents to replace it.

Hi, Jake!
I think to get 900 watts you will have to use 5x50 watt lamps :)
I use the 5200K lamps to light my flowers when making time-lapse shots, but usually they are 13-32 watts. For one flower I need 8 lamps to lit background, 4 lamps to lit foregroud and there is also an 20W UV lamp to make flowers happy.

Oh, you're right.
I read the thing wrong....
"Combine these lamps with the Spiderlite TD5 and obtain over 900 equivalent watts of power"
To get the 900 watts you use the TD5 fixture which holds 5 of these bulbs.
Thanks,
Jake

Hi Jake,
Yes I have seen these before, but thought the light output wouldn't be enough.
My main trouble is I use a sunlight room and to overpower sunlight needs some serious light. I can do it very well on the still side of photography with my Alien Bees strobes.
That's why I was looking at http://www.vistek.ca/store/ProVideoLighting/219737/studio-lighting-system-fluorescent-light-bank-55wx2.aspx
Canadian retailer, as I'm in Canada ; )

Thanks for the link Norman,
I've been reading about them on the geek brief website. Kind of funny they do this show in an apartment.
Love the behind the scenes stuff.
