Panasonic 920 problem

Hi I hope I can get help on this subject, I have a panasonic cx920 and I have had it for a while but only used it in the last few days, it shoots on avchd which I have found is not editing friendly, i am at this time trialing cyberlink 12 and sony vegas pro 13, my issues are that i have tried saving footage in mov and mp4 and converting to the required photo jpeg using mpeg stream clip but the converted video is very hazy, any help would be greatly appreciated. and of course I have reasonable budget for software.
