Why isn’t everybody uploading H.264 codec?

One thing I've noted is that if you transcode from the original camera file, even doing a little color work first, the resultant file (yes, even a PJPEG) but even better ProRes 422 HQ, but we wont' go to the higher stuff yet) but NOT yet another super compressed lossy file, it is now easier to further manipulate the colors and look. Having gone to a less compressed codec, no, you don't actually add information that wasn't in the original file, but now there is more data assigned to the color, detail (which is why it is useful to gently use noise reduction and slight sharpening) then you now have higher power to work with it. So there is benefit to the end user to make a file in as big a codec you can reasonably deliver.

Anyway it looks good and professional when you can deliver ProRes 422 HQ, or even 444!
Don't forget to raise your price accordingly as a Profi... ;)

I'm just starting to do ProRes 422 HQ... so far I really like it. Only submitting to SS and p5 these days and they accept it.
I sometimes wish there was an easy way to go back through all my originals and export as prores instead of photojpg or even OLD mjpeg stuff :-(
