hi,i shoot some night timelapse on the alps 2 weeks ago with my gh4,full manual mode,i turned off i.r / noise reduction etcc..when i took the sequence into lightroom i noticed that randomly some frames has magenta color shift...this is worst that flickering because it' s hard to get rid off it unless you do it frame by frame....
Anyone has this issue??

I am just thinking on how one might be able to get rid of this. Look at one of the good frames and see what the magenta levels are and make note of it. Then perhaps totally remove all magenta and process all the frames (xmp/raw) into footage, then reintroduce magenta to all the frames at the recorded/noted level. This might work. Just an idea and perhaps worth a try.

thanks vader...the problem is that this random frames are not all with the same color shift, some are "more" magenta other a bit greenish...the sequence shows inconsistent color and it happens mostly at night with ling exposures...i did some timelapse at daytime and i didn't notice it...however thanks for helps,i'm trying to fix it frame by frame, such hard work!!!!
i red somewhere other users have this issue which makes this cam totally unusable for timelapse work...

Have you tried any other RAW conversion software other than LR? I'm seeing a lot of complaints regarding third party applications not reading Panasonic's RAW from the GH4 specifically, some are suggesting trying other software to get your images read correctly from RAW.

hi naplesmedia, if it was like you say i doubt lightroom would read some frame properly and some not, anyway i'll try other raw converter but i wouldn't want yo change my workflow, lightroom is perfect and fast for timelapse...
i'm wondering if any gh4 owner here has experience this issue which happens mostly in night long expusure shoot...

I understand, this is what some people have posted when using GH4 and Lightroom, some are saying is because the RAW x.x converter isn't reading the ISO's correctly, although to be honest, i've seen nothing in low light, this is related to the GH4 and ISO 100 clipping issues. This is one of the reasons why we rent GH4s if we need them and still not sure which 4K frame is going to be our work horse.
Panasonics SilkyPIX was mentioned, but i've not used this http://www.isl.co.jp/SILKYPIX/english/p/ so i'm none the wise and would recommend some research.
But perhaps you can find a small RAW conversion tool, to port over into a directly and then get it into Lightroom to carry on with your workflow for free. Or there are some GH4 day to day users who've seen this first hand and overcome it.
good luck man.

i did some more test, the preview on camera is just fine,no magenta frames, faststone(which is a raw converter)doesn't show magenta frames...the funny thing is that lightroom and EVEN the panasonic software(silkpilk)show some magenta frames...i don't know what to think...it looks like some software read the raw properly and some not!!!

Interesting, but at least you know it's not hardware related and i hope you found a work around for your workflow too!!
