Is H.264 in QT MOV ok?

It's a good codec, but it needs a lot of cpu poewr to encode and to play that stuff..

ya, so far I've been using QT Motion JPEG but it seems that H.264 may be becoming a future standard. I think I have plenty of processing power and really want to UL the best quality picture (video) and also make the file as small as possible. I'm still averaging 500Mb for 15 second clip. If there is a lot of green color that seems to make the files even larger.

So what do ya'll think is the best codex as far as quality and also minimal size?

Check out varius's HD clips. He's been using photo jpeg and their under 500mbs for 30 sec. clips. Just type in his name in search window, he has 40 pages at 25 clips per page.You can also e-mail him for a one on one. Go to his web site and key on Ipressum for e-mail address.
