Google Mobile Search

Google just changed their search algorithm yesterday for mobile devices. The more mobile friendly a site is the higher the priority. Since P5 is not mobile friendly it looks like our search priority will be very low when using a mobile device. Darn.

We're working really hard to fix this (and other SEO improvements)! Expect updates regarding this in the next few weeks.

PLEASE don't forget the back-end for contributors. I'd like to access my dashboard from my phone.

Not so bad yet. Search Google for "stock footage" from your desktop and Pond5 is the 1st advertiser and 6th in search results. Same on Bing.

I still need mobile compatibility.

It should not affect searches made from desktop or laptop computers. It will or should only affect when a search is done from a tablet or smartphone.

So I searched "stock footage" in my smartphone. Pond5 is 4th in search results!
The new Google algo is not running yet?
So what? What can I do with the result now?

Pond5 spends a LOT of money on Google advertising, so I don't expect that the generic term "stock footage" will be much affected. Where it will hurt is when you get specific like "stock footage ambulance emergency" or "stock footage male doctor". The other agencies clips will likely come first.

Ss 1st place
3 youtube results
Pond5 5th place.
Not bad.
Not functional after clicking the result.
Conclusion: pond5 is not yet affected by the new google algo.
