50% gray background?

I know that what i am proposing might seem academic, and that is a decent 50% gray background at least in the areas where thumbnails appear, like the search area for example or at least the artist's page for our own sake.
This white background has always made me feel like every clip i see is severely underexposed after browsing for some time.

Why every agency uses this horrible white background where clips are playing i dont know.
After some time browsing only the overexposed stuff look like they have had some decent lighting to the point that after spending time uploading and keywording i had to go back and rerender some of my clips that appeared very dark only to realize that the waveform disagrees with my eyes.
Is it just me?Didn't pond5 ever have feedback from people that buy or sell stock clips to implement a decent and technically correct viewing environment?

I agree, it's horrible!
