There are 6 clips of Morris dancers dating from July 09 which have never had any sales. The total number of views on the most popular clip is 149 - with a lot of those probably resulting from your post here. The average views in the 20s. This should give you some gauge of what you can reasonably ask for point and shoot material like this. It's all to easy to price yourself out of the buyers pocketbook. Although there is limited available footage, this likely reflects limited demand. Consider this most probably a one off lucky inquiry and make a reasonable offer to the potential buyer. $1200 dollars is not gonna get you the sale (but who knows?). In the range of $250 to $500 and that's pushing it, IMHO. These guys don't sound like deep pockets.

I sold clips via back channel inquires to both CNN and Thai PBS this year. I have no qualms about selling to anyone directly. There are no ethical breaches involved as far as I can see. It took me about an hour of labor time to target each buyers FTP server, locate the files and create a PayPal invoice. I try to make an educated guess about what the buyer is willing to pay. CNN paid 5 times the price of Thai PBS. If someone calls from NYC, well the price starts out higher from the get go!
