Are 5 sec shots worth it?

The cut speed/tempo is getting faster and faster. Now an usual cut is around three second. Look at any kind of video product. So, five seconds is very good. There will come a day when a three second cut will be considered boring.

Glad to hear that ionescu, and I agree, it seems clips and videos are becoming faster every day. Interesting to watch all these developments and to some extent be part of it!

The way I learned, is to shoot a minimum of 10 second clips, allowing editors to choose their three to five seconds of action or motion. I always wonder with time lapse though. The decision I made with that is to leave them slightly longer, and the editor can make them faster.

Recently sold this 5.17 second clip. I almost didn't put it on because I thought it was to short. What the heck, I took it so, I listed it.

Yeah, action projects will often be a rapid sequence of short clips. Can't hurt to try.
