I bought a Vixia HF S100 and LOVE it, but only Adobe Premier Pro CS4 and After Effects CS4 can handle the AVCHD format, so if you don't already have the program, or plan to get it soon, I would not recommend getting the ACVHD format. If you have the programs or plan to get it.....I highly recommend the camera, it is great!!!

Video Studio, Sony Vegas, and Magix Movie Pro all handle AVCHD. I can't stand Vegas and I've outgrown Video Studio. Movie Pro is nice for small projects and quick stuff, but I do 90% of my work in After Effects CS4. :)
