So this is what DJI was developing with Panasonic Micro 4/3 system:

Many of us are waiting with bated breath to see if they somehow mange to cram a "real" 4K into their 60mb/s codec for the X5. THe X5R shooting RAW is a dream come true, but the price is a nightmare that is hard to stomach. Badass potential here!

Will it fly away without saying Goodbye ?
For professional production house is a good price, not me.

that price has the 3 axis. I guess you could handhold it and walk around.

Anything is possible. Been flying the crap out of my Inspire 1 ... had a few "moments" of wonder if I'll ever see it again, and a close call when the GPS lock had a chaos bubble when flying fast and low over water, when it dipped the camera into the sea, so it's REALLY freaking hard to consider attaching a $5K+ camera to it .... the whole deal with this stuff is that you CAN lose your investment at any time. And if you play it safe, you don't get the shots it was meant to get. "Dude ... you fly your drone over water?" Yeah, I say ... that's what it's for! But 60mb/s is not cool for the X5 version ... the lens will help a lot, as will the sensor, of course, but it's feared that the same codec will be used as is used in the existing "X3" camera we already have, and it's really quite compromised - they dropped a B frame which causes a resample/flicker every 8th frame, and the high detail stuff is, um, how you say "less than". That said, it's still pretty darn amazing. As far as I know, there are no other decent offerings in the "ready to fly" realm ...

They should be coming out with the handheld gimbal thingy if they haven't already. I'm about to process yet another clip from my I1 - this one shot INSIDE Yosemite National Park ... but I wasn't flying. I had the damn thing strapped to the roof of my VW, and the gimbal did the rest of the work. Pretty cool now and then ...
