Canon maybe at NAB?

Don't know if I am willing to pay $6,000 for it in the 1dx. I have been waiting and hoping for the 5d iv with 4k for the past two years but have given up hope on that front. Even if they decide to throw 4k in it, I think the gh5 or some of sonys cameras will be better for video purposes. If I didn't do photography as well as video I would abandon Canon completely at this point (as much as it pains me to say it).

Agree, Canon has much better photo capability if they can just get the video side as good as the GH4 and Sony RX-10 II. I hate to spend that much on a body but might have too.

Really hope that Canon comes with a reasonable priced 4K camera soon! Still on HD with Canon C100 MKII but I am planning to upgrade to 4K during this year. Interesting that the C100 MKII have a cash back of $1000. This could mean more interesting stuff at NAB

The problem, as I see it, is that Canon won't wan't to cannibalise sales of the Cinema - C100/300/500 cameras by making 4K video on a "stills" camera any good. So there is a good chance it will be 8-bit and a maximum of 30FPS.

Of course I could be completely wrong!

Canon always will find a way to cripple that camera :-)
They don't want DSLR to compete with their video cameras.

I recently sold my C100 at a good price too,it was propably the best camera i ever owned.I fell in love with it towards the very end.
If Canon doesn't introduce a 4K C100 this year or worse yet if it does at a C300'ish price im screwed.Sony FS5 was a false prophet, thank god i didnt go for it.
But 6000 for a camera that is at least as good as a 1DC is a bargain.Sadly i dont think it will be that good the 1DC equivalent will propably be an upgraded body or the new C100.
Let's hope that for once Canon will stop being...well..Canon. (but please keep the colorimetry)
