How to process 4K video? Software and computer?

I just jump into 4K video shoting and suffered by the slow process on my computer. 4K footage from GH4 and I edit by AE or PR. Computer CPU is Intel 4790K with 128 SSD .

Painful thing is the huge file size and very slow to do edit on the 4K material.

Raw 4K footage from GH4 with 6 second is roughly 78MB but it become 700MB after edit .How it comes so big ?!
On the other way,edit this footage using my computer need 60 seconds for rendering. It really a suffer!

I want to know how you edit the 4K footage.

Get used to it. A 20-30 second 4K clip can easily be 3GB. Buy lots of hard drives, get a fast internet. The faster the computer the better. Have fun ;)

If file size is a real issue and you shoot under plenty of sunlight and there is no need for color correction, I think you can clip the video inside the camera. Then you can upload in the original native camera file type.

You can edit with Panasonic software, simple cutting only. The software will keep the original MP4 format, small and original, good for uploading. I guess you can mute the voice/microphone in your GH4, so no sound/voice issue with curator.
