LRV THM

My GoPros and 5D II produce hundreds of thousands of LRV and or THM metadata files. I store them in a different place than the pics, and the pics still 'work'.
Do I really need them?
Is it possible to set the cameras not to produce them?

That is the metadata for each photo. You don't need them and I don't know of a way to tell the camera to not produce them.

Thanks. Now I am going to save a lot of storage. They occupy more space than their size.

the thm files you can rename to .jpg and it will be a still image of the video... this was helpful for me to do with my mark ii files .
