Slap in the face

I know I am not the the perfect videographer. There are many more talented people here than I am. But the latest rounds of rejections really surprised me. I had a wide range of videos including flowers(which I expected would get rejected), american flag with a unique one of a kind background, 4k aerials at several locations in Texas, some videos of famous scenic spots in Big Bend National Park that there is literally no other competing videos of on pond5, a cluster of broadcast satellites, and various other videos. 69 out of the 76 videos were rejected. Infact, the 7 that did get accepted were in my opinion lower quality and less commercially usable.
I had 100% percent acceptance rate on these exact videos on two other sites, the first time I have ever had none rejected. The time wasted uploading and keywording these has pretty much left me wondering if I want to upload here anymore.
I know, I know, good riddance yadda yadda

File a protest request at support@pond5.com
state number of clip
write a sentence of why it should be accepted
It's the only tool we artist have.

If you have a little thicker skin and willing to accept constructive criticism on your clips so far, start a thread in that section. I think you could get some help to improve.

I spent about 45 seconds with your collection loki, and I see you are doing fine and you have good work. Pond5 is messed up, and you are on the slap in the face list. I enjoyed several of your clips, and thought they were great. Spend your energy elsewhere until they either fix it or fold. (in my experience companies that start doing this crap do fold)

Dont give up, it is possible just bad vision or mood of reviewer, i had many rejections on music files too (we got one curator with specific taste, dont know what she is like). Better that curator is not only one, we got others ;)

Well I put up seven photos, all rejected. Reasons given sensor on camera no good, lenses of low quality, poor lighting conditions. Well the camera is a new Nikon D5500, lenses are Nikon lenses. I am not sure what night photos are if not taken in poor lighting conditions ?. I assume the reviewer is more qualified than one of the three top camera manufacturers when it comes to the design and manufacture of digital cameras. I can accept constructive comments on the contents or artistic makeup of my photos, which in itself is subjective, however when comments as to the quality of the camera, sensor and lenses are made ( assuming there is are problems with the equipment ) I think someone is completely " out to lunch ". I have been reading comments from other people having the same problem, some with much more expensive cameras and lenses than mine where submissions have been rejected for inferior cameras and lenses - really !. Hundreds of photos have been accepted and sold by other sites being rejected by Pond5. I simply have opted to delete my photos and will look for other alternative sites.

Attach some of the rejected photos here so we can see them, maybe you can get a little help or explanation. Don't be offended but the 5500 is a lower end consumer dslr. It sells for $500. Nikon does have much higher quality cameras with better sensor and processors. Many Nikon lenses are also not pro quality. It's not the name, manufacturer as much as subject and over-all quality of the actual photo or video. That doesn't mean it doesn't take good photos but it's not really professional level, it's a consumer camera. Don't feel too offended I had a large number of photos rejected from a full size sensor Canon 5D MK III using the professional L lenses for same reason. The same that are selling at other agencies at higher prices. That camera is $3,000 plus new and the lens was another $2,000. P5 really does not need any more photos so they are extremely picky now. Good luck.

Its true that NikonD5500 is non-pro camera, but interestingly I am using my NikonD5100 which is first gen model of nikon D5000 series.Although I am very small seller but thanks to Pond5, I have selling every months on and average. What I am doing is slightly post processing clips before uploading, taking shots on tripods, using 100 iso maximum using lens with 1.8 aperture for night shots or even in low lighted areas.I too have rejection but its almost 20-30%.There have full chance that your clips are not stable, may be grainy,(I am not sure about that sorry)my suggestion is please do some research,so far quality and content of the website are concern it will be mandatory, and what are the requirement.Definitely use a software for retouching, you should be prime curator before uploading. Pond5 completely changing character which I think good, there are so many competitor, professionalism will definitely boost up sells as well as developed us as contributor. All the best don't upset start afresh.

Indeed the subject and quality is somewhat more important than the camera make and model. A camera does not take a photograph ... the photographer takes the photo. A little over a year ago I sold a single JPG photo from my old Canon 20D, 8.1mpixel camera for $35,500.00. It was the subject that mattered. And there are thousands of similar photos to that one available on stock sites.
The reason there is Consumer and Pro level cameras is simple ... make them affordable. The sensor and camera processor is a few steps down, the body is plastic and little to no weather proofing. There in many or most cases more noise and the big part is the menu selection is really made more difficult to navigate compared to the more upper end cameras. The photographer takes the photo and simply leaving everything in auto will not make them the best.
Without seeing the rejections no one can really help.
