Good point. I am using mainly 24-70 lens, which means that the center of gravity is outside the camera. What do I do now?

There are http://www.manfrotto.com/product/8374.56.76811.0.0/357PLV/_/Sliding_Plate_with_2x14%27%27_and_2x38%27%27_screws for some tripods (I have one for Manfrotto 3-way tripod head) where you can adjust the point of gravity of the camera+lense.
