Perfectly smooth video made EASY?

Has anyone tried a 3 axis gimbal on top of a glidecam? I want to try it and I think that it would totally redefine smooth video. Seems like perfectly smooth at 50mm would be doable. I built my own gimbal frame and am considering buying motors and a controller, but money is short right now so I might just wait. If someone has a 3axis gimbal and a gildecam I would love to hear how well it works.

I don't own a glidecam but I did put my gimbal on a two handle support and that really makes it more stable.
I used this past weekend at an Indian dance we shot video for.
I also mounted a monitor and wireless Follow focus so I can adjust focus and aperture while shooting.
This is me shooting the girl on stage and the second half of the video is what I was shooting.

This is a test I shot with the gizmo. You can see where I'm doing a rack focus from the thumb lever.

That is a sweet setup. I think that for what I am doing it would be a little to bumpy. Not that your video isn't smooth, but I think that having a 6 axis stabilizer would make for some really nice video. I would try it my self but none of my friends have a gimbal that I can use. My goal would be to be able to shoot for a full minute with no noticeable bumps in the shot. I am pretty close with my Glidecam like Laing p-4s.

I am shooting at 18mm which could be one reason that this video is so bumpy. Looking at the canon 10-18mm to help with that. One major problem that I have is leaning the camera from side to side causing the horizon to awkwardly change.

Leaning the camera is a major problem that I get with the glidecam. Probably 75% of my glidecam videos are deleted because of this. The problem is that I have never been 100% impressed with the smoothness of 3 axis gimbals. The 4th axis for gimbals doesn't seem to help that much either. That is why I am curious about a 6 axis system.

Both are good clips.
You're doing what I do. I can't tell you how many clips I delete because I'm my worst critic. Not saying everything I put online is a masterpiece.
Both glidecam and 3axis stabilizer are great tools. Personally, I used to have a glidecam but hardly used it because I like to shoot stealthy.
The stabilizer lets me do that. I can look like a tourist in a crowd with that. (not with the 2 handle thing attached)
Yes, it does have issues because of the walking motion and still has some small vibrations. But I usually take that out using After Effects stabilizer.
Also I love the stabilizer as I can grab it and put my camera on and start shooting in less than a minute. I was never able to balance a glidecam that fast.
But as I said, both are tools and have their strong and weak points.

There is definitely a time to use each tool. I think that I may try to build a gimbal. I found a way to build one for $200 that should hold a 1DX Mii or maybe Red Raven size camera. Definately the A7sii. If the 6 axis doesn't work out then I can just sell the one that I like the least.

I'm happy with the osmo x5 with 12, 15, and the 45mm lenses. Heres shot with 45mm lens which is 90mm equal on full frame...

Those are nice shots. Are you on a long board or something else like that?
