template problems

The new template system is saving the changes I make sporadically. When I go to tag a new set of clips, the aspect ratio setting is different every time I apply the template even though I specifically set it to "16:9 Native" when I saved it. It also refuses to save the "2010s" tick on the "time and place" tab, in addition to my personal copyright notice (which includes the copyright symbol). This new template system sucks compared to the old one, it's taking twice or thrice as long to tag my clips now and I find myself procrastinating to avoid the frustration. This is no good.

I have seen the templates seemingly auto detect and pre-set some things for me. Like what you have seen for aspect ratio for instance. So far this has been useful for my needs. I haven't had the same issue with the other stuff...yet?

That's really cool, as long as the aspect sensor never misinterprets a clip. I wasn't thinking about the possibility of a menu choice trying to choose for itself. That "erratic" behavior makes more sense now. I just wish I had known that's what it was doing before I got all huffy, lol. The "time and place" thing seems to have fixed itself (either that or I stopped making some stupid mistake) and the copyright symbol complaint is no big deal, so I guess all's well now. Good show, P5 crew!!!

Okay, here are the latest problems with the new templates:

1. They're automatically picking the wrong aspect ratio. My template told me today that a 16:9 was a 4:3. It's a good thing I was paying close attention.

2. They refuse to save the "Contains Alpha Channel" and "Seamless Loop" settings.

3. They refuse to save the "Time and Place" settings.

We've fixed the aspect ratio bug, alpha and seamless loop.

I can't reproduce the Time and Place errors. Those checkboxes count as keywords so you probably want to check the "add keywords" checkbox.

If you think there's still an error, please give me an id of a borking template, an id of a clip you want to apply it to and the expected behavior.

Thanks,
Marcus
