I've noticed moire only present when viewing 4k video at 720 size screen but at full res when viewing on a 4k screen you dont see it. try exporting a clip and view it on something else.

In my opinion (and many others) DLOG/SLOG/VLOG etc. don't make much sense when you film with a camera with heavy, heavy compression like the Phantoms. 60mbps is really low for 4k video and you really see it falling apart when you use DLOG. The tiny sensor doesn't do you any favors either as anything over the lowest ISO will almost be unusable.
I believe it's beneficial to try to get it a bit closer to the final look, but of course turn off all the horrible sharpness and contrast added by DJI.
Nice colors in the video @AcmeStudios but it looks compressed to shreds. YouTube doesn't help of course but starting out with 60mpbs source material is not exactly ideal...

I did some tests (deleted, as they were for my own edification) using the X3 in DLOG, with the copter on the ground, shot a few seconds, then switched back to my normal custom setting which was, I think, -2-2-3 or some variation like that, and shot a few seconds. That was way back when I had the Inspire 1. We ARE talking about the same camera, by the way, just different form. Recently I did the same test with My Yuneec.
In both cases the image was horrible and flat as expected, but also, completely lacked the detail required to "sharpen in post" as some people say they do. It was smashed under the compression, and there's nothing left to sharpen. So a little bit of sharpening is good. Just a little. Learn the cam and when to change from -2 to -3. IN areas of intricate motion and high detail, especially lines and curves, shift down. Distant waterlines (far shore at base of mountains) were really bad for me, but I liked sharpening when flying closer over forest.

Bigger problems is the older Phantom Vision +. After the update it's a brick. It will fly with the controller but my phones and tablets that once worked great no longer show the video feed from the DJI camera. The newer phones (S-7_ and tablet) will not finish loading the DJI App because of network error even though they are fully connected.
Spent an hour chatting with DJI, they claim never heard of this. A quick Google search find many many such problems. They say send it in for repairs. Somehow they messed up the connection to Samsung phones and tablets. When DJI products work they are ok, any problems and you on your own. Excuses with no answers.

The last few days I have doe some more flying and experimenting.
I moved to -3 -3 -3 from -2 -2 -2 and the moire thing got much better.
I have been using Normal color mode and manual color balance, I am pretty happy about it.
I have tried DLOG in the past, but doesn't rock my boat.
Has anyone tried Cinematic mode? Any comments?

Haven't tried Cinematic mode proper (and can't now I don't have Inspire 1) but I will say that while I really liked the resolution gain and aspect ratio 4096x2160, and actually suspect the image quality is better, the motion suffers ... if lots of movement/detail, 24p ain't good enough frame rate. Came back from a couple trips with some epic judder fails.
Also discovered to my great sadness while I was on our last big trip with my Typhoon H, and messing about with settings for fun during a lake sunset, I screwed up and left it on "Gorgeous" for the rest of the trip. DON'T DO THAT! (hyped color, contrast, sharpness) talk about moire' ... lucky only had a few clips from that that were any good ... I think I can recover them if I squint.
