Osmo+ or Osmo Pro?

Might have to go with one or the other.
Now .. some of you might know there is a m43 zoom lens for the X5. Can be used remotely.
So zoom option not necessarily the decision making factor.
Having had both X3 and X5 cams (my X5 was modded, so not sure about it) I can't say I saw a huge benefit in quality (or any for that matter) to justify the additional expense/less battery life/complication of having to (erp) focus, expose, etc of the X5 over the X3.
I KNOW the X5R is woy too much for what I want to do with it, although if someone gave me one I would not complain.
So ... X3 with short zoom on Osmo+ or X5 on Osmo Pro? Opinion?

It seems you can get about three Osmo+ models for the price of one X5 camera. And if you can't see much difference in quality of the output then I suppose it's pretty obvious what to do ;)
Not sure a small zoom lens is something I was waiting for. An attached (flip out) screen (ditching the app system) would have been a game changer, for me at least. Then throw in some built in NDs and I'd pay double what they are asking now. But a short zoom, on a camera that doesn't focus within a short range, hmm....

Ah - good points, all. Thanks!
I'd rather use a proper remote, rather than app, but for my purposes, vehicle mount is what I'm going for ... driving POV and aerial. So handheld stuff is for me an afterthought.
Not sure about the focus. The aerial version is designed to focus far, the handheld version focus to near (1 meter).
The X5, of course, focuses where you tell it to.
In aerial application, the moderate zoom will be appreciated, but, as we all can expect, this is no Cineflex ... optical zoom (we are not even considering the HD-only digital zoom crap) would be akin to the RX100m4, which, while not "tele" is a decent framing assist ..
The reason I am not sure about the quality difference is because my X5 was modded ... it had the OLPF removed, and had a red cast to it. There may have been other effects of this mod, so I am not sure what to compare it to, having not seen stock output. Hence the question.
I was just looking at some footage, and it was sharper than X3 (due to OLPF removal?) , BUT both cameras share the same horrid super-compressed codec, which dumbifies the visual output ... like YouTube ...

Osmo X3 is a modest investment so risk reward is low but with all thes types of cameras it's about the content and the ability to get shots that are unique on a low budget. I'm happy with the X3 Osmo I have.

Slightly off topic. Did someone by any chance try if that Osmo Mobile gimbal could support a Sony RX100 IV? That'd be an interesting combination...

I don't think so Stef, but I don't really know. RX100 IV much heavier than the average phone .

The Sony RX100 IV weight is 1.3 lbs and my HTC A9 is 5.0 oz now that a big difference. A boat anchor vs a feather. lol
