Time to get rid of Editorial Label

Problem is that if a clip is listed as "editorial only" then the entire 20-30 seconds is editorial or the buyer will believe so. As we know most buyers use a few seconds and that a few seconds can easily be commercial within an editorial clip.

Editorial labels are a bad way to sell and market a clip. Just list it simply as "has a release" or "does not have a release". This way buyers can still use a few seconds of a clip that "does not have a release" commercially if it meets their needs.

I agree, many clips where a percentage is editorial, but at least 5/10 seconds isn't. I upload the whole clip so the buyers can choose what they want to use.

I don't think the editorial label hurts a clip... It just a CYA from P5.

I believe people who manage to find Pond5 and make it their prime source for stock footage tend to be intelligent enough to make up their own mind if a clip needs extra releases / legal paperwork or not.

But then I tend to hope for the best in people, which in this time and age might be overly optimistic. ;)
