Alpha channel not showing in preview.

I recently uploaded a quicktime animation encoded video with embedded alpha channel but the preview player shows the background as black instead of a checkered board. Another file with a black element in it got rejected for that very reason.
Did Pond5 change the way the previews are encoded? An older file which was Quicktime PNG encoded didn´t have this issue.

Haven't done an alpha animation but plenty of PNG's. So if you are using AF to upload these in in Quick Time you also need to change the channels from RGB to RGB + Alpha in the video output module.

Thank you Jason, but the alpha channel is properly rendered and embedded in the source file. Tested it in Pr & Ae myself after it didn´t show up in the preview like before.
I am just concerned whether buyers get this qt animation source file or pond5 made a new encode that might have gotten rid of the channel since it doesn´t show in the preview like it did a couple of years ago with png based files.

Same here, in the clip information you can read Alpha Channel : no
My files were rendered with quicktime animation codec and channels set to RGB + Alpha.

Hi ShootTheMessenger, we will have to take a closer look into our preview player, thanks for letting us know.
When uploading media with an Alpha channel, we encourage you to output PNG codec, as this is accepted on most editing applications. Certain programs restrict the use of .RLE or Animation codecs, so we suggest everyone to output PNG for now, to provide more compatibility for users.
