FTP resume not working

MultimediaSauce 1 Aug 2017 09:03
Hi all. I am still trying to successfully get footage onto Pond 5 but no luck as yet. Using FileZilla, which I have never had any issues with, yet no luck. It uploads a partial part of the clip and then sytarts a fresh upload, creating a second clip. Version of the software is up to date and internet connection is solid. Any suggestions are very much welcome.

I'm testing the web ftp option and it seems to work very well, with information on speeds, amount of data transferred and timing estimates. +1 P5

Web option works, but only 1 file at a time, otherwise it tries to upload all files in list concurrently, and as result they all fail. NEED RESUME function please.

Filezilla (and other clients) only works if I'm there to stop the transfer after it has reached 100% otherwise it starts over.

Of course this is on stone age connection, but I can't do anything about that. No really.

A true "resume" would be great. Just lost another 4 hours of uploading a single file just over a gig. Not happy.

"Error - Something went wrong, please try again." This after hours of uploading.

AAAAAAAAGH!

I suspect us types with low speed internet are not as numerous or as important, or that I'm alone in this, but I'm practically on my knees begging: PLEASE make the web uploader more slow internet groveler friendly:

1. Has "resume" so files partailly uplaoded (especially after hours of uploading and about 95% done) are not simply dumped when "something goes wrong"
2. Allows us to control the amount of files being uploaded concurrently, so we can start a list of files, to be uploaded one my one (to help eliminate "things going wrong") and go to bed (or anything else since "things go wrong" frequently enough that babysitting uploads is kind of a sad reality.

The resume would be the best solution. However, for my experience, I can say that the failure of uploading depends greatly on the goodness of the connection.
My DSL connection is shaky. I pay for 20M down and 800K up. When these values are constant everything works well. But sometimes the connection freezes for a few minutes or the speed slows down to 1M down and 200K up, then goes up and so on. In this case the upload fails and I'm not sure the resume resolves the situation, especially if the connection freezes repeatedly for a long time.
