Help! Just getting set up with Pond 5 and need some advice. New to Stock but have years of footage on marine mammals. Rare footage. I have been filming with a Sony HDR-XR200 and when I upload to Adobe Premier 7, I get lines on footage top & bottom like a cinamax film. How do I get full screen on my clips for Pond 5?

probably have your settings wrong. See what resolution our camera shoots at and make a project file to match that.

We are aware of the settings and they are where they should be
and we have not been able to correct the problem. We are dealing with Sony now.

Sony's software is not capable of resolving the problem. We were advised to go to a third party software. For us that is Adobe Premier. Hopefully it is something very simple that we are missing.

I ran into the same problem initially with my Sony A1U. As it shoots at 1440x1080 - Premier takes these files in as that size (note: I am using CS4) . Hence when I fetch raw footage, I use the preset HDV1080i30 (60i) - with this description:
For editing with IEEE1394 (FireWire/i.LINK) HDV equipment.
16:9 interlaced HD video at 29.97 frames per second.
48kHz audio.
Drop-Frame Timecode numbering.
General
Editing mode: HDV 1080i
Timebase: 29.97fps
Video Settings
Frame size: 1440h 1080v (1.3333)
Frame rate: 29.97 frames/second
Pixel Aspect Ratio: HD Anamorphic 1080 (1.333)
Fields: Upper Field First
Audio Settings
Sample rate: 48000 samples/second
Default Sequence
Total video tracks: 3
Master track type: Stereo
Mono tracks: 0
Stereo tracks: 3
5.1 tracks: 0
Submix mono tracks: 0
Submix stereo tracks: 0
Submix 5.1 tracks: 0
Then when exporting - set your settings to Format:Quicktime and (custom settings! and then save the settings for your preset if you have none that looks like this.), Lower Field first MJpegB, Quality around 82 (view the output tab) and 1920x1080 set for width and height (pixel aspect 1.0 or square)
I don't know if this helps on Premiere 7 as I have never had prior versions to CS4. But it took me a while to figure this out as well. I am not super familiar with Premiere and use it basically if my Sony Vegas Pro bombs (not happened yet too seriously), or someone sends me a premier based job.
