Just tried it out.
First impression:

Nice software, but as it seems it has no stabilization option :(

Yep, one of the main reasons I have to use Resolve (which has better stabiliser than After Effects, in my opinion) not to mention masking, cloning, etc.

That's why I said it could be good for "general/quick" stock clip cutting/export. Otherwise, just a great way to make clips into ProResHQ

So to be clear, in case I wasn't, I use Resolve to make big uncompressed file, then Acrovid to export to ProResHQ. I then discard the uncompressed, and archive the source and the ProResHQ.

You should try out Shotcut, maybe that's a better solution. I didn't use it a whole while, but as i remember it has a stabilization on board. Just saw that there are several updates since i used it last time. That's my job for tomorrow.

I think I did try that some while ago ... not up to snuff, or had issues. Since Resolve, I've not needed Adobe. Looks like Shotcut has had some updates, so I will look into it and see if it does have interesting tools. I like native tracking/stabilization, automation, keying, etc, and to be as easy as possible, but capable. Oh, and true 3d which AE isn't.
