Batch delete

When your in the area that you tag clips, the spot that you can check them and then execute a function a batch delete function would be great. I always end up with doubles and triples of clips, when I delete them I have to do it one by one.

yeah deleting can be quite a process if you have more than one clip you want deleted

If there is a batch delete or even individual clip delete please make at least two or three "are you sure" prompts. A global of batch delete could be dangerous. QUESTION to P5; if a mistake is made and a clip or a batch of clips are accidentally deleted can you retrieve them for us?

well with the current way to delete a single clip, after you hit delete it brings you to another way where you are ask "are you sure"

a batch delete would have been useful for me a few days ago, I upload a bunch of clip of a fish tank. A few of the clips were accidentally exported with sound. So I had to delete them one by one and before i uploaded them again without the sound. A batch delete would been a little easier.

It's super scary to have a batch delete, it takes someone 10s to click on a few buttons and all your clips are deleted. If we batch delete a large number of clips internally I do a special script for this, just to be sure there is no form online that could be abused.

Agreed - this is tedious work for you. How about a compromise? A batch delete for clips that have never been online?

Don: Right now clips are on a delayed queue for the deletion of the payload so if there are buyers of it, they should have a chance to download. But the meta data might not be preserved - clips never online are deleted more instantly than online ones. This is not carved in stone though, it's just a matter of some programming.

Best regards,
Marcus

How about a trash bin system? Batch move clips to trash bin, but once there the clips stay there for a week or two before they get automatically deleted? Maybe with an automatic email warning after a few days "You have 20 clips in your trash bin that are about to be permanently deleted. If this is an error, better act NOW!"

Yeah I just want it for getting rid of clips that have never been online, I don't want to delete any thing online once it is up and keyworded

I'm for the idea a batch delete of clips that aren't online, I don't envision a reason why I would need to delete a large number of clips that are approved and online.
The only deleting I need to do are for clips that are still in the edit data phase.

The trash bin system is also a good idea.

I need a batch delete. A double or tripple check would be fine, but having to refind the next clip over and over again is way huge effort and time.

Just select the desired clips and select "Delete Rejected" from the pull down menu. Then "Execute". No check at all. Be careful!
