I was just looking at the same thing, looks pretty nice. I wonder if this can compete with the GH4 for 4K. For this price, it seems a tempting alternative.

Any intervalometer for this camera?
BunFest 12 Jun 2014 09:00
Even you have to buy an extra intervalometer for 10-20 dollars is worth it. :D
I will sell my FZ200 and LX7 for this promising new toy. 25mm-400mm is a very good range than Sony RX10.

Stefan,

I think it has less color bit, even so it is a nice camera. I am a fan of Panasonic now..Too bad I can't have wider lense than 25mm, or have to use converter which has distortion on 4 corners.

BTW: The Camera producers are selling 4K camera cheaply in order to push their 4K TV set...

I hope they are pushing the Canon 4K cameras price down...

That sounds like a plausible explanation. Why else would they want to add 4K to this camera. At first glance where it falls short from the GH4:

It doesn't have all the different shooting modes that the GH4 has ('only' 4k 30p), it appears to have a smaller sensor, the 4K crop is massive (1.48x from HD, according to that article making it 37mm effectively), fixed lense. There's probably another couple of major differences that I'm not seeing right now.

So, it's probably not a great idea to compare it to the GH4, but rather to the Sony RX10 (as they do in all the articles I browed through). Still seems like a neat camera.

They can't make a camera to compete with their high-end camera for such a low price. May be 700-800€ hopefully.
Sure Canon will lower the 4K price "IF" they want to compete with their rival.

I think it will be an interesting "high speed" for slo-mo camera. Those are the specs I like. Supposedly GoPro will introduce some high frame rates in the "4th" version within their next couple of months as well.
