Looks really nice. Price isn't too bad either. I really like the double handle grip.

I like it. I sent them a note asking whether the AX100 would fit ... suspect it doesn't, too long in back. For use on boat, using telephoto ... easier to balance fixed lens telephoto stuff on a gimbal than to rebalance every time you change a lens ... gimbals are finnicky as all hell. Always wondered how one monitors, much less operate the camera ...put it in autodefocus set the exposure and hope for the best?

you think as you zoom your ax100 it would modify balance? I was thinking about this for rx10, but that would definitely move as you zoom.

Well I noticed on some of my "finer" or "luckier" days using the RX100m2 or 3 on the gimbal on my Matrix quadcopter, that using the zoom extended the lens, shifting balance as expected, but two things made it work "almost" (consider that it didn't works so well normally)

Thing 1: If I changed the PID's with that in mind, and set the balance of the camera aft a bit, I could zoom and it didn't make the function suffer

Thing 2: It was very easy to change the balance physically by moving the camera fore/aft. Since this was something I had to do with the craft on the ground, and usually accompanied a change of camera battery, I had to position it anyway.

With the AX100, if it physically fit, changing the batt won't be an issue, but having to have the monitor LCD out would be.

So many shots from the boat on my recent trip ... sucked. With few exceptions, I'd get the focus, the framing, the whale leaping, and BLAM a wave comes out of nowhere right in the key part of the shot ....

Guys keep in mind that usually you can't touch the camera when the gimbal is on because it will start freaking...
