A PC can't export ProRes. It can only play it. Only a Mac can export ProRes files.

I needed to do more research, I though a while back there was going to be a port to ProRes for PC like QT is. Maybe later.

Well first impression. Almost worthless outside, the screen is all but unable to see and completely unusable to focus. If you don't have a loupe I would suggest against it. The GoPro smart phone app is better at controlling and setting the camera. They really need to team up with Magic Lantern and fix the workings. Now to start testing video quality.

Actually you can export ProRes from a PC. You need ffmpeg - an open source encoding tool. I do it just about every day at work. I export from Premiere or AVID as either uncompressed or animation codec and then encode to ProRes from there. Send me an e-mail if you would like more information.

Is anyone using an EVF with this camera?
I had the same problem as Rekindle and found it useless outside. I was completely guessing what I was aiming at and hoped things were in focus.
Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I don't do much outdoor stuff but I have a Letus viewfinder for my 5D that would work in a pinch for focusing.
Not anything stellar but these are a few Pocket camera videos that were just accepted.

This morning I took the base and attachments of my Letus viewfinder to try it. Yes for studio use should not be a problem, outside travel I have serious doubts. Without having a magnification view built into the camera like the 5D or other dslr to refine critical focus is still a guess at best.

It does have magnification.
Double tap on the focus button.
But the bright green peaking is great.

Double tap the "ok" magnifies and double tap on "focus" brings up green focus.
Still not fully sold on this. Does not appear to be able to change settings and see how it affects exposure real time. Kinda trial and error, back and forth. Not a great grab and run type camera but more of a slow studio setup and use. Maybe with practice it will be faster and easier.
