Hey Marcus, I sent that screen cap to your e-mail address...

Okay, we're making progress now. The problem is it's in the wrong direction. The "My Uploads" page just took eight minutes to load and another three minutes to become responsive in any way. I'm starting to think this is Flash-based. I've been saying it for years, Flash is the buggiest piece of garbage ever created and in the top five worst things to ever happen to the internet. I dropped my MySpace account because their overuse of Flash would crash my browser on every other login attempt. I'm not sure how much Flash is used at Pond5 but ANY is too much, in my opinion. My suggestion to Pond5 is to find any alternative to Flash you can find (or just stick with good old reliable HTML). I bet we would have twice the traffic here if it weren't for newcomers getting frustrated and leaving because of this problem. You can still have a stylized, good-looking website without Flash. Plus it would WORK, and that's the most important thing.

No flash is run automatically on the uploads page. At any given time, at most two flash instances is run (one on the page plus one mouseover).

Your uploads page with 306 clips takes me 12.8s to load using a two year old midrange laptop. You don't have to show all 306 clips at once, should this be the problem. If you use the search filter at the top it's simple to show only clips needing tagging etc.

Cool, I'll do that from now on. I was right about part of this problem. I went into my registry and stomped Flash's rotten guts out and now I'm able to move clips into bins. I don't know why it would affect transferring clips, but the fact that is does proves how flawed it is. Remember, people, "Flash is trash".

I am having issues with flash previews for large footage (hd720 and larger) not loading all the way. Firefox downloads about 20% of the flash preview and then stops. Having the same issue with IE7. Both are updated to the latest version.

I'm not having this problem with other sites that have flash previews. And it doesn't happen with previews which are smaller than 720p.

Very bizarre...

Anyone having trouble with Trash (oops, Flash), here's a page with several different kinds of registry fixes. These fixes will not only gut Flash, but they'll keep your browser from prompting Flash downloads and they'll keep it from displaying those "broken" Flash icons. The page is here:

Well. the flash previews work perfectly in IE7 with no issues, but I still had trouble in Firefox. So, I uninstalled the flash player from Firefox and re-installed it. Issue went away. It works.

I think the problem was probably caused when I installed Flash CS3.

Only problem I'm having now is with both FTP servers resetting the connection in both CuteFTP and FileZilla. But the java uploader works perfect, so no worries.
