Are DSLR in video overdone or even dead?

Why? Because the truth stings like holy water on a demon?

Actually, if I were looking for a camcorder, that is definitely a deal I'd consider depending on who was selling it. While I am not a fan of the "Tape" workflow, the HV40 is a solid camera for Stock Video work. A number of people on P5 whom I admire use it and use it well.

is something dead because some say it is?
I love working with dslr, and NO its not a substitude for a cam. but it gives me a lot of extras's in post and some beautifull shots i couldt do with a cam.
Dead is when there is no use for it anymore at all. I think dslr is alive kicking and growing.

That is a good deal on the HV40 pacage for sure.

The DSLR in video is something that is eveolving. There is a need for camcorders to be able to swap leneses for sure. But this needs to be balanced with the ability to manually set the exposure controls along with the audio. My best example of this woudl be the Panasonic series (DVX,HVX), simply amazing.

The T2i is a little monster, had one for about 3 months, but could not deal with the overheating, having to babysit it on live events because of the 12 minute limit on clips, but it could give you some wonderful results. I was torn, but ended up going back to a camcorder to get back into the comfort zone.

There should be some things coming out within the next 2 years that will merge the two worlds quite nicely.

Sony Alpha Rumors. The A900 replacement in the spring is to be another Full Frame dslr using semi-transparent mirrors. 1080/60p/30p/24p and full manual controls.
