Buyers won't see certain clips becuase of hidden filter that should be visible

I was trying to figure out why my recently uploaded (to exclusive) clips of an urban hawk eating a pigeon weren't showing up when searching with key words (as a potential buyer would). I remembered that a couple of months ago there was discussion about the "include sensitive content" filter that one must check first, but since I didn't see the filter in the list of filters, I assumed it had been (rightfully) done away with. But lo, scrolling way to the bottom of the filters list, there's a gray box that says "my search preferences." To me, that box seems like it's referring to the filters above it, but when clicking on it, you get two more choices - "include sensitive content" and "hover preview size." The include sensitive content is unchecked by default.

This is crazy. What potential buyer would have an inkling that the sensitive content filter is hidden there, let alone there even is a sensitive content filter. And why in the world is it unchecked by default.

As I said two months ago when this was brought up in another thread, buyers are smart enough to know that when they search for hawk eats pigeon, there may be an eaten pigeon in the clip.

My suggestions: make the "include" button on by default and put it up top with the other filters where someone would actually see it. It would mean a lot more sales, I'll bet. And certainly it could briefly explain what sensitive content is. Someone searching for leopards attacking antelopes wouldn't necessarily consider that sensitive. But better yet, get rid of that filter. Is this the 1950's?

@bakdc2 go to your home page for footage video and on the left side scroll down to the bottom of the page and you'll find MYSEARCH PREFERENCES and open it. Now if the Include Sensitive Use Content box isn't checked by a buyer your content your hawk clips will not be viewed even by yourself. Curators consider those clips to be offensive and therefore sensitive content The only recourse is to contact support@pond5.com to see if they'll change it to non-offensive.

Hi Jason
I understand how to turn on "include sensitive content." But if you re-read my post, my point is that most buyers have no idea that option even exists. It's buried. And being OFF by default means that potential buyers won't see the clips they're looking for and will go elsewhere. And, as I said in my post, someone searching for a hawk eating a pigeon isn't going to be offended at the result. And if someone else stumbles upon such a clip, they don't have to watch it if they are sensitive to that sort of thing. At least, move the toggle up with the rest of the filters.

P5 is PG-13?

In my opinion, that should be something sensitive buyers switch on themselves. Most of us are adults and can make those decisions for ourselves.

That said, I once unsubscribed from a daily email that had a lot of neat stuff in it because it had something really grotesque that I could not unsee.

But we sellers do not get a notification that our clips are in Sensitive Use, so unless we waste time and pore through everything to make sure it is not flagged as such, and then request revision, which wastes time for P5 staff as well, we just consign those clips to the Pit of Unseen and Unsold. It would be nice were we able to see (checkbox? Display type "Sensitive"?) those clips.

@bakdc Why not take that up with support as you'll get nowhere here.

I will, thanks. But given that this is the comments and suggestions section, I thought making a suggestion here might be of value. I'm not asking here to change the sensitivity rating of my clips, but to have P5 reconsider the way the sensitivity option is hidden and on by default.

@Jason .... because take up with support for this is wasting time! I did this long time before and mentioned that the opt-in possibility is too hidden (after i wondered because i couldn't find some of my own clips online).
Clips within "Sensitive" are dead clips and will never sell, that's my experience :(

There seems to be a serious disconnect between the forum and "Support". Results vary. Also, sometimes we can discuss and learn, and refine our query, so that when Support (and higher) does take a serious interest, they can respond more fully, and perhaps to the betterment of all concerned.

I'm coming to realize they need our support just as much as we need theirs. Communication is key. This is part of it.
