Critique of my Website

if you want meta text for pictures you can use the alt="" command.

Thanks for the suggestions. Yeah, iWeb is a non-HTML web page creator. I'm mainly using the site as a "front" to who I am, so I will send it out to potential clients, and am not looking so much for google's ability to pick it up (as I have profiles with major film production job websites that entail such info... this is where I get clients who are browsing for sound people).
Basically, I should switch my web creating platform and I should be good with making most these changes.

I've now redone my website having implemented many of your suggestions. My favorite addition is a sound design montage that comes up when you first go to http://www.oconnorsound.com. If anything, let me know what you think of the opening video (only 1 minute long). Enjoy!

Im seriously in webpage envy mode here...

Awesome site, I dont think oyu have to worry about bandwidth concerns your target market is the video crowd if they are on dial up let them drift away into dust.

Still no meta title , keywords or description though ;)

The video is freaking awesome

Just another note about the importanc eof that meta if someone shares oyur page on twitter like I just did the social plugin buttons like to read that meta data to make the post

So to some extent you can control your message by including it.

Thanks for the feedback artmyth. I recently simplified my website by getting rid of images with text burned into them, as well as adding a credits list and a consistent background to match my new business cards.

Thanks for sharing it man, I really appreciate it! I use iWeb to design the website so I don't think I can include any metadata about the website, but I'll look into it.

Hi Mike,

Quite a nice change from the first implementation you published - never an easy thing to do. I elected to go with a nice Wordpress CMS package this time in order to make it easier to update. I just don't have the time to keep a nice site maintained, so hopefully my current update will work for awhile.

I'm trying to make sure I cover my bases with stock, camera and post work, and want to be able to rotate samples in and out of the site with relative ease once I get the layout looking the way I want.

Obviously we are in an incredibly saturated market here in L.A., with lot's of talented people - but there are many niches left unfulfilled... and there are opportunities abound! Good Luck!
:)

I like your website. My hosting company is hostrocket.com. They let you have mutiple independent domains under the same hosting plan.

Sorry for the late response everyone, I've been M.I.A. for quite a bit, busy with work (which is good!). I've recently added what I think is mandatory for guaranteed work which is a visual reel for my production sound reel. Unfortunately it often takes 6 months or more to see/get a hold of footage from projects I've worked on, which is very understandable in most cases, but man, I could have used this footage a lot sooner. Since I've had this video up (less than a week) I've gotten more responses from job offers than ever!

Note to editors/directors: Get footage to your crew (especially low-paid) if they request it as soon as you can, it is very very helpful for our careers!

Note to sound mixers: Make reels that include several examples of your work and people will be more inclined to hire you vs. merely having a gear list and credits list displayed on your site.
