2 gb limit for 4k files is too low

Just a thought with 4K files I believe the 2gb limit just isn't enough. There will be a substantial loss in quality which I don't feel the end user should have to deal with.

Open for discussion on this, what are everyone else's thoughts

I agree, I have to make many clips shorter than their HD counterparts.

can't afford the $10 price in transfer and storage costs by raising the size limit ;)

Just heard P5 agrees and have increased the limit for 4K material.... great that they listen.
Sorry Rekindle I don't understand the $10 comment?

How long are your clips? I usually get stock to come in under 2GB for 4K and the quality is high. Of course I tested a whole bunch of various settings until I found the "sweet spot".

I use pjpeg for my clips at 96%. Below this quality, things just don't look good. At this quality, the max length below 2GB is 10-22 seconds, depending on the scene. Most of my HD timelapse clips are greater than 30 sec.

What will the lowest price point be for 4k? And at what point will a file be considered 4k?
